Hey...do I know you?
It's been a while hasn't it? Where was I last? Oh, right, pretending to be all professional and jetsetting around the East Coast..haha. Please don't take my silence as inactivity, I have been doing stuff, it's just I haven't had the time to write about it. Projects have been completed, life is going on, the earth is spinning round, and stuff is happening. Need I say more?
For starters, my sister Nina and her Miami friend Lindsay are opening an online upscale shopping boutique and I was invited some time back to contribute a knitted piece of some sort that someone would be willing to pay booka bucks for. Well, remember the yarn I picked up from Nashville which was supposed to be another knitting bag? It didn't quite turn out the way I wanted. I mean it's cute, I like it, but I don't love it. I'm hoping some rich person will want to buy it from Nina and Lindsay's enterprise. I call this the Tulip Purse, made from beautiful hand painted 100% wool, hand knit, hand felted, and hand sewn, any takers?
(As an aside, I really like to felt things and in my felting of a variety of objects, I've discovered that Fred absolutely loves felting more than I do. So much so that he excitedly watches me, occasionally sniffing the felting water, watches me dry the piece and shape in on a towel on our floor, waits for me to leave the room, then proceeds to do a little rubbing dance all over which inlcudes rubbing his back and his furry little cheeks all over it. Here he is caught in action.)
What else have I been up to...well, I have a friendly completion to announce. Emily has finished her sweater. Huzzah for Emily and her first sweater ever! It's made of Lamb's Pride Bulky which was very difficult to find locally. I think it's gorgeous and a wonderful addition to our gallery!
My parents are currently in the Phillipines on holiday which means that my Mom's birthday was missed, tis ok though, we'll be celebrating upon their return on Mother's day. And boy do I have stuff for her, I'm sooooo excited firstly for them to get back safely, and secondly to present her with the following happy birthday mother's day gifts--a shawl made from Laurel (Schaeffer's Yarn) and Cherry Tree Hill Super Socks made with Fortissima Socka. I will present an update of her response after the festivities this weekend.
