If I clean the house are we even?

I went out to dinner with my sister Nina and my brother Mark last night at Sushi Yama in Vienna. Being Filipino and understanding the concept of CP Time, I brought my spring-summer shawl to the restaurant just incase of the 95% probability of my sibs being late. Surprisingly I didn't get to knit a stitch.

Dinner was outstanding as usual and I stuffed myself silly and chastised myself for being a piglet yet again. Our visit was jovial and I took the opportunity to share the yummy color of my shawl with my sister who exclaimed her admiration for my "skills" by blatantly hinting? that the shawl would be a wonderful birthday gift for her in April. Slightly relieved that I could gift the shawl to my sister instead of withstanding the guilt from the previous day, I decided to pursue that option.

I lovingly worked on the spring-summer shawl when I got home thinking of how beautiful my sister would look in it, and how pleased she would be to see it wrapped in birthday paper and ribbons. As I worked, a twitch of envy passed through me...but I wanted a shawl. I really could use one. I've wanted one for years...and there was that other color of Cherry Tree Hill Linen, Rayon, and Cotton blend that I was close to choosing instead...

So, I find myself at Uniquities this afternoon accidentally taking home 2 hanks of Cherry Tree Hill in Green Mountain Madness, and also accidentally picking up 2 skeins of Fortissima Socka Yarn in this wonderful grass/kelly green that would knit up beautifully as the Fiber Trends Leaf Socks pattern that also made it in my shopping bag.

How did this happen! What am I supposed to do? A deal. I needed to strike a deal to make this reasonable. I will clean the house. At the very least finish the mountain of laundry. I will do this and then allow myself to think about the 2nd shawl and the leaf socks. I am not allowed, absolutely not allowed to pet these yarns or even think about inspecting them as I wind them into center pull balls until the house is clean. Agreed? Agreed.
