My right foot is warmer than my left
The peachy socks as I lovingly refer to them are almost done. I am wearing the right sock as we speak after much deliberation over the method of bind off. I decided to play it safe and bound off with #5 needles. In my excitement after binding off I tried to slip them over my foot to marvel at my knitting genius and to my surprise I realized that alas, I am not--err a genius. In my effort to waste as little yarn as possible and to take my sock to new heights ergo closer to my knee, I told myself overconfidently that my legs are quite slim and that a ribbing pattern would suffice so I should respect my shapely legs and not insult them with increased stitches. Ya, the f*#&!ng thing didn't get past my heel. This is unfair as this one sock (and the other to follow) was highly planned and chronicled in detail. This was to be and with hopes still will be the perfect pair of socks.
The solution? I had to (gasp) use even larger needles. #7s. I knitted the whole thing with #2s and I'm binding off with #7s. I've read using at the most two needle sizes up to bind off, but here I am. #7s. And they fit! Yay! It's not my cankles, it's just the needle size and the highly intelligent (as I have demoted myself from genius) suspended bind-off method which adds extra elasticity to anything. Pictures to come when the left sock is done.
Plans for tomorrow: Contemplate showing my one sock to my mom at work (we both work at the same place) and my new found knitting work pal Sheryl, or squirming with the urge but holding off to show my sock until it has a partner next Monday. I will place finished sock on nightstand to stare at me in my sleep and aid the decision making process. It should have an answer for me by morning. Other plans tomorrow...take Brooke (the new roommate) to Uniquities with great hopes that she catches the knitting fever and never recovers, also to survey potential stash fattening opportunities. Good night.

hi Carmen!
I'm working on the new sock and still have the other 'new' sock... no worries, I'll probably have to bring them both in this weekend to ask for your help! Thanks again...
Sheryl
