Toes up and Short Rows! I can doo iiit! Part 1 - The toes

I decided to give socks a try again after my brief stint with some lovely self-patterning Fortissima Sockas that ended up too loose for me to wear and sagged down my feet. After much searching and a firm decision to commit to learning toe up socks and short rows I found some sources online to patch together a hybrid dream sock. I recruited the toe pattern from the knitting fiend's blog on the toe of toe up socks and the rest of the sock with slight modifications from
wendy's toe-up sock pattern. All I had to do was make a gauge swatch, measure around the ball of my feet, and measure the length of my feet and I was set! I hope that this helps in understanding how to make short rows and how to wrap stitches. I really had trouble with this at the start!

Yarn: Fortissima Colori Socka, 2 skeins, 50g
Needles: #2 dpns
Gauge: 7st/inch
Measurements: Ball of foot - 6.75in; Length of Foot - 9.5 in (US women's 7)
Number of st for foot circumference = 48st
The Toes

CO 14 st using the backward loop cast on method

Knit into the loops of the 14 CO st

Pick up loops of knitted stitches

Begin toe increases:Needle 1 (heel needle): K first st, Make one st, Knit to before last st, M one st, K last stNeedle 2: K first st, Make one st, KnitNeedle 3: K to before last st, Make one st, K last stSecond Row - Knit one round

Alternate one round with increases and one round of knit until number of stitches as determined by gauge for ball of foot is achieved (48st in this case)

Once the number of st for the ball of foot is achieved, K around to 2in less than measured foot length (in this case 7.5in)

Yay! looks sort of like a sock now yay!
