Arts and Farts and Crafts and Jam
So there has been some arting, and some farting, and some crafting, and some jamming the past two evenings. Ana and Emily have joined me both yestereve and the yestereve before to knit, chat, and whatever else we get accomplished while knitting whilst our mens jammed in their still unnamed band. A fun time had by all I must say.
Emily finished a felted pouch and commenced to attempt her first ever toe up socks. Ana cast off on her scarf-hoodie thingy and will begin the hoodie part soon. So as we chatter about life, career goals, school goals, weddings, biology, the environment, etc. the subject of spring arises and we all get crazy eyed and start blathering about spring, how many days left before the equinox, and when we will pull out our sandals to start dancing out in fields and forest clearings. I am counting the days to the 20th, as if that will magically bring warmer weather and force things to bloom.
And along with this fever for spring comes a slight twinge of worry that my knitting may naturally be pushed to the wayside as I start other warm weather hobbies. I don't know. What am I talking about? Despite all this crazy talk, I thought, if I don't feel like knitting in the next few months, maybe I'd feel like...spinning. Well, this then led to a perusal of spinning wheels online and my aching desire to now own one. What the hell have I started? Well, now I am calculating how many paychecks it will take for me to own a spinning wheel of my very own (which by the way I have no idea how to use). And I have begun to daydream of sitting outside in the spring and summer time spinning away spools and hanks of yarn to clothe the world with. What am I doing. Please somebody. Anybody. Help me. Or, I will gladly take donations for the said wheel, as well as suggestions on what goal I might set for myself to justify rewarding myself with said wheel. I mean really, this is not outrageous, I was just thinking about the Ashford Kiwi which was described as economical and excellent for beginners...
